Remember that game commando for the Commodore 64? To learn some new skills, we had to create a commando clone.
So in commando you had to go through levels and kill enemies. That's exactly what you do in my version. To be completely honest, I don't really know how the original game exactly functioned, but I just added in things that felt right.
As an extra, I created my own text system. All text that is displayed in the game, is written in the commando font. It is dynamic, meaning that it is not pre-written text. All text is generated in runtime, and can be anything you want (simply passing a string to the write function writes the text). That is one of the things I like most about this project.
Check out the screenshots below for a single glance impression of the game
This is the start screen. The 'press space to start' text changes color and moves around.

Some things to keep in mind
I did NOT create any visuals for this game. The only thing I own is the code that runs the game, it was completely written by me. I used the Unity game engine for this project.
